Greetings!

Happy Thanksgiving!

As I was preparing to write this e-newsletter, I decided to research the meaning of Thanksgiving on google. It turns out our traditional American and Canadian (Canadians celebrate on the second Monday in October) are not the original Thanksgivings. The Europeans have celebrated various versions of it through out time.  It is believed the Americans and Canadians were simply replicating a festivity they had known in their European days.  The focus of the festivities was on the harvest, its abundance and how grateful everyone was to have what they had.

I think here in America, we often get sidetracked during this day of feasting.  It can be easy to be consumed only with the amount of food we are preparing and eating, distracting us from the abundance of the "harvest" we have reaped in lives.

No matter what challenges the year has brought you, when you focus on what it is you already have, with an attitude of gratefulness, it transforms any feelings of lack into feelings of abundance.  This simple act of gratitude allows our hearts and spirits to receive.  This allowing, instead of resisting, is what opens us up to our joy.

So, in the busyness of the gathering of friends and family and preparing and eating, try this:
Allow yourself to take a good deep breath, look around and see all that you have: your family, friends, abundance of food, clothes on your back, a warm place to be and whatever else you are present to...and be ready to experience a joy that naturally comes from being in a state of gratitude.

Wishing you abundance of joy as you bask in appreciation of all you already have reaped in your life.  As you keep focused on appreciating, you provide an allowing for you desires and goals to be received.

In closing, please know I appreciate you for taking your time to read this, just as I appreciate the relationship we have created.
I look forward to continuing our relationship in the future focused on abundant health and well being.

In appreciation,
Jackie

Gratitude as a way of life!
The benefits of feeling appreciation and gratitude are numerous.  Yet, we often get distracted by what we don't have in our lives, which keeps us feeling less joy, more discouraged and sometimes even resigned to a life of "nothing ever changes".

I have found that a regular practice of appreciation/gratitude is necessary for my own health and well being and an important component of my clients' ability to transform their lives.

It is in the presence of what we have that we allow more to come in.  It works beautifully with the Law of Attraction. When we focus on what we have and what we appreciate, it all appreciates, and we attract more of that abundance into our lives through the energy or vibration we are  being.

Being in this appreciation energy feels better overall.  This better feeling energy allows us to be guided in making better choices for ourselves, finding solutions easier, and generally feeling more "at ease" in life.  Feeling more "at ease" certainly is conducive to feeling more joy as well.

So, want to feel more gratitude and joy in your life?
Are you ready to feel better and more "at ease"?

Here is a simple practice you can do regularly and receive abundance of benefits.  Give it a whirl for 30 days and you'll notice a definite shift in how you feel and who you are being.

Do this simple practice and receive the benefits of gratitude!
  • Get yourself a "Gratitude/Appreciation Journal"
This can be any notebook or perhaps buy yourself a "special"    one dedicated for this purpose only.
  • Take a few good deep breaths and begin to focus on what you have in your life, what you appreciate, what you are grateful for.
  • Try focusing in from your heart.
  • Write them down.  List them each on a separate line.
Examples:
I am grateful for my husband
I appreciate all he does for us
I am grateful for my clients
I appreciate who each and every one is
I am grateful for my home
I appreciate the shelter, the warmth and security
it provides
  • Do this for 5 minutes or more or until it feels complete.  There is no "right" amount of time.  Trust yourself to know when you are complete for the day.
You can do this as a way to start the day off or as a way to finish your day.  It's up to you.
I personally like to do it as a way to start my day.  It puts me in a good frame of mind.

Commit to doing this daily and you will feel the shift of more positive focus, less resistance, more allowing, and definitely more joy!

Maintaining healthy eating habits during the Holidays
With all the eating events at holiday gatherings, it can be challenging to maintain healthy eating habits.  Read "What is a portion anyway"? to help you during the next 4-6 weeks.  You may find yourself a bit less inclined to overindulge and instead maintain a healthy weight and attitude during this holiday season.

Enjoy!
If you need any support in feeling more gratitude and joy in your life, as well as keeping your health and well being on the path you desire, please remember my:

We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures.  ~Thornton Wilder

It is literally true, as the thankless say, that they have nothing to be thankful for.  He who sits by the fire, thankless for the fire, is just as if he had no fire.  Nothing is possessed save in appreciation, of which thankfulness is the indispensable ingredient.  But a thankful heart hath a continual feast.  ~W.J. Cameron

Grace isn't a little prayer you chant before receiving a meal.  It's a way to live.  ~Attributed to Jacqueline Winspear
