5 Tips to Engage Your Motivational Zing!
Article by Jackie Foskett, August 2010
Focus on what you want
It's not about what you don't want, it's about what
you DO want. That's what will give you motivational "zing"!
So, be sure to define what it is you want to have, do, or begin.
Be clear. Have you ever tried focusing in on something fuzzy?
Doesn't feel good, does it? Be clear and you'll feel the
energy of your goal.
Use your imagination
Engage your imagination as you focus on your goal.
Imagine yourself doing what it is you set out to accomplish.
See/sense/feel yourself doing it, making it, living it.
For example, if your goal is to eat healthier now,
imagine planning your food list, going into the grocer store,
finding those foods you are focusing on, the ones that provide such
great nutrients for your body. You might even imagine all the cells
in your body simply dancing as they receive these healthy nutrients
that support them in supporting your body to be its best. Imagine
yourself sitting down at each of your meals, slowly eating, savoring
every delicious bite of that healthy nutrient rich food you bought
as you eat consciously, stopping in between bites and stopping
altogether when your body tells you it has had enough.
Keep using your imagination on a daily basis for
whatever your "start anew" goal is and you'll feel very motivated
and energized as well.

Eat for your health and well being
Whatever your "start anew" goal is, it's important
to eat healthy, nutritious foods. They provide the vital
energy your cells need to keep your brain and body functioning
optimally.
When you eat healthy, you naturally feel better
about yourself. When you feel better about yourself, you feel
more enthused and motivated to take the appropriate actions to
obtain your goal.
Move your body
Bodies are meant to move. Find something that
moves your body daily, like walking, jogging, swimming, biking,
dancing. Not only will your heart, lungs, muscles, and lymph
respond positively, but you positively impact the biochemistry in
your brain, too. Those wonderful endorphins that get produced
make you feel good. Can that be a bad thing? I don't
think so! It'll have you feeling very good and "zingy" about
your goal, guaranteed!

Keep a gratitude journal
Can't say enough about this tip! When you are
in an appreciative/grateful state, you are present to all you
already have in your life. It's a state of allowance and
receiving. It triggers feelings of joy and love. When
you feel more joy, more love, you are experiencing your connection
to your Higher Self, if you will. When you are connected in,
it's much easier to feel motivated. It's much easier to allow
the "Laws of Attraction" to work for you. You get to be in
energetic alignment with your goal. How's that for motivation?
Sounds pretty good, doesn't it?

Bonus Tip:
Create a "Vision Board"
A "Vision Board" is a physical creation of what it
is you want. Use a simple piece of paper as your "Board". Now find
images and/or words that represent your goal and paste them onto
your "Board".
Place your Vision Board some where you can see it
daily. Focus on it for 3-5 minutes a day. It is a great
physical reminder of your goal as well as being able to bring your
unconscious mind into alignment with your goal.
Now, the unconscious mind will seek to fulfill the
goal. How great is that? Pretty amazing!
